The biopic based on the life of Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousufazai has finally gotten a release date. Gul Makai, a biographical film directed by Amjad Khan, had been in works since 2017 and was majorly shot in the Kashmir valley.
The movie is now scheduled to be released on 31st January 2020. The film stars Reem Shaikh in the role of Malala and also stars the late Om Puri. The movie will follow the struggle and journey of Malala Yousufazai during the time the Taliban gunmen seized the Swat Valley and her fight to get the right to complete education.
Gul Makai was Malala’s pen name when she wrote blogs for BBC Urdu during the Taliban rule. She was shot in her head by the terrorists because she attended school and wanted to receive education even if she was a girl.
