American rapper Cardi B has come out, detailing a sexual assualt, she experienced during a magazine photoshoot.
As she recalls the incident speaking to a popular TV and radio host, she says “I will never forget how I went to shoot for this magazine and the photographer, he was trying to get close to me, like, ‘Yeah, you want to get in this magazine?’ Then he pulled his d*** out. I was so f****** mad, and I was just, like, ‘This is crazy.’”
Expressing how she reacted, she reveals “I was like, ‘You’re f****** bugging. You know what? I’m out.’” She also alleged that the owner of the publication brushed off the incident, “You know what’s so crazy? I told the magazine owner and he just looked at me like, ‘So? And?’”
Without mentioning the photographer or magazine, “When I see the #MeToo movement,” Cardi continued, “there’s girls from the hood, I know they went through the same type of treatment. Like, they make you feel like you got to do a certain type of thing for the most bulls*** s***. It happens, really, every day.” She also shared that at this point in her career, she no longer experiences such harassment, “Oh, hell no. I’ll put you on blast on my Instagram. I’ll f****** violate.”
She has in the past mentioned the incident in a 2018 interview, saying “I bet if one of these women stands up and talks about it, people are going to say, ‘So what? You’re a h**. It don’t matter’.”
Cardi B had her breakthrough in 2017 and has since then earned five Grammy nominations and a US no 1 with her debut album, Invasion Of Privacy. The rapper was seen on the silver screen alongside Jennifer Lopez in the film, Hustlers. She will also be presenting a hip hop talent show on Netflix, with TI and Chance The Rapper.
