Demi Moore Shares She Was Raped At 15 By A Man Who Paid Her Mother For It

In a memoir written by Demi Moore, she opens up about her dark past. She wrote ‘Inside Out’ as a way to find herself again and help others who may be struggling. “If I were to look back, I would say I blinded myself and I lost myself,” she said.

Her book details her troubled childhood, substance abuse struggles, as well as marriages gone bad with ex-husbands Bruce Willis and Ashton Kutcher. Amongst the many things she has turned inside out, Demi Moore revealed that she was raped at the age of 15 by a man who claimed to have paid her mother $500. In the book, she writes, “It was rape. And a devastating betrayal, revealed by the man’s cruel question: how does it feel to be wh**** by your mother for $500?”

When asked if she believes her mother would have done that, she said, “I think, in my deep heart no. I don’t think it was a straightforward transaction. But she still did give him the access, and put me in harm’s way.”

Demi Moore dedicates Inside Out to her mother and three daughters. Talking to a leading magazine, Moore’s daughter RumerWillis shared that she feels privileged to see all sides of her mom. She wasn’t surprised by the book at all. “I don’t know if I would use the word surprising. It’s more like…. When a whole picture of someone’s life is painted—it made so much sense, to see her whole childhood detailed, it was like having a bunch of puzzle pieces put together.” Adding, “Whenever your parents say something like, ‘I was your age once and blah blah blah,’ when you’re younger you go, ‘Yeah, but you don’t really understand.’ It’s hard to imagine your parents as kids.”

But I feel like one of the most beautiful parts of her writing this book is everyone who has been a fan of hers or who has loved her for so long will get to see all of those pieces, to see this vulnerable and very beautiful and sometimes intense side that they may not have seen before
