The song of Ice and Fire was finally sung today. Jon Snow, Daenerys, Tyrion, Sansa, Arya, Bran- their tales are complete and the end gave everyone something they didn’t ask for. Just like Tyrion said, “If no one is happy, it’s a good compromise”.
Psst…’Game Of Thrones’ Season 8 Is Not The End Of The Show!
But there’s a lot more happening in Westeros. The makers announced back in 2017 that there will be a prequel to the show and to your delight, shooting has already begun. Informally referred as ‘The Long Night’ by R.R. Martin, the prequel will take place near the end of the Age of Heroes, which is around 5,000 to 10,000 years before the events of the current GoT series. It will show the era when Westeros had no King’s Landing, no Iron Throne, No Targaryens and Valyria has just begun to rise. The prequel will go back to the time when humans first defeated White Walkers and built The Wall and most likely show Brandon, the Builder’s tale.
Like they say in the Land of Westeros, ‘What is dead may never die’, it seems Thrones isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. The prequel’s release date is yet to be confirmed.
