Warner Bros. has released a second trailer for Just Mercy and we see Michael B. Jordan’s Bryan Stevenson taking his Harvard Law degree to Alabama to fight for those who were condemned for crimes they didn’t commit.
While the first trailer had more of a homespun courtroom drama feel, the second one is stirring and powerful, and quivers a sort of intensity and energy same as that of the book it’s based on. Michael B. Jordan plays Stevenson in the film opposite Jamie Foxx as Walter McMillan, an Alabamian inmate who, in 1987, was sentenced to die for killing a teenage girl, in spite of the ample evidence proving his innocence. Jordan and Foxx are joined in the cast by Brie Larson, who co-stars as local advocate Eva Ansley. The cast also includes Rob Morgan, Tim Blake Nelson, Rafe Spall, O’Shea Jackson Jr., and Karan Kendrick.
Michael B. Jordan playing a steely lawyer determined to free wrongly imprisoned death row inmate Jamie Foxx in this heart-shattering new trailer will have you deep in your feels. Watch it here.
Just Mercy is set to have a limited theatrical release on December 25 before having a worldwide release on January 10, 2020.
