Sure, much like every category in the Academy Awards there were a lot of misses in the category of the Original Song – we mean, wasn’t Sufjan Stevens completely robbed for Mystery of Love? Or when Karen O sang the Moon Song live and it completely disarmed the viewers? Or when o’ when A Star Is Born won twice, separated by 3 decades no less!
There are some sappy winners, some sure shot ones, some really eclectic ones, and some that just transport you to another level altogether! From the crooning of Celine Dion to the ballad of Stevie Wonder to the very gut-wrenching and emotional Barbara Streisand – these songs aren’t worthy just because they won the Academy Award; they won the Oscar because they were that worthy!
