Has ‘The Batman’ Found Its Main Villain In Colin Farrell?

You guessed it right, Colin Farrell is in negotiations with Warner Bros to play ‘Penguin’, the DC villain. The film will see Robert Pattinson as the Dark Knight, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as The Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Batman ally Commissioner Gordon and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth.

Burgess Meredith previously portrayed him on the 1960s Batman TV series, Robin Lord Taylor played a younger version on Fox’s Gotham and Danny DeVito  played The Penguin in Tim Burton’s 1992 film Batman Returns.

The Batman is a detective in the film which is a neo-noir take on the character. “His morality is a little bit off. He’s not the golden boy, unlike almost every other comic-book character,” Robert Pattinson, who’s set to play the Caped Crusader, said about the character. “There is a simplicity to his worldview, but where it sits is strange, which allows you to have more scope with the character.”

The Batman is slated to release on June 25, 2021.
