“Who killed Bryce Walker? “- this has gripped ‘Liberty High’ in fear in the upcoming season of ’13 Reasons Why’. The first trailer of Netflix show’s third season has been dropped and it seems the teen-drama is no longer a provocative rumination on mental health and teenage suicide. Rather the third season is a sensationalised murder drama that centres on the murder of ‘Bryce Walker’.
The trailer is cryptic until the very end, showing the teens of Liberty High in various states of conflict leading up to Bryce’s funeral. A voice over saying, “Here’s the thing about the kids at Liberty High. They’re connected by their secrets. Connected and forever changed. The truth is, given the right circumstances, the right motivation – anyone could have done this” further makes the trailer more enigmatic.
The gritty trailer is also accompanied by a link to an interactive personal mobile website, which requires voice activation. Further it sets you up on a on a mock phone call with Deputy Standall who questions you about Bryce’s murder, eventually asking you to put in a vote on which student you think committed the murder. Along the way, you also have a brief interaction with Bryce’s mother, who requests you to bring forth any information you have on the case.
13 Reasons Why season 3 is set to hit the screens on August 23.
