The latter half of the 90s and the 2000s was a glorious time. It was riddled with music, movies, songs, books, everything that was just a little superior. So much so, that even today anything that is remotely of interest to most is punctuated by nostalgia. Like Lucky Ali songs. The songs evoked a feeling of longing and loss, but at the same time the exuberance of love and comfort. The songs gave us company when we felt both happy and sad, and all of them had a bittersweet glean.
From the unspoken love and loss of Nahin Rakhta Dil Mein, to the acceptance of heartbreak in Teri Yaad Jab Aati Hai, to the absolute mind-numbing tragedy of Gori Teri Aankhen, to the ultimate ballad of love and loss – O Sanam. Every song tortures us with memories that tear us apart and a feeling that we brush under the carpet but creeps up every time we are vulnerable. These songs taught us about the elusive necessity of love, and so we hope that the next generation knows as well what it meant to feel emotions that were indescribable yet described by Lucky Ali
