Nayanthara Opens Up About Facing The Casting Couch

Touted as the ‘Lady superstar of South Indian cinema, Nayanthara Vignesh Shivan is the finest and one of the most versatile actors in the country. The ‘Godfather’ actor who took a little break from acting after her wedding, recently welcomed twins via surrogacy.

The actor who will soon be seen in Shah Rukh Khan and Vijay Sethupati starrer film ‘Jawan’, opened up about experiencing casting couch early on in her career during a recent media interaction.

She revealed that this one time she was offered a pivotal role in a film in exchange of ‘favours’. She further added that she was bold enough to directly reject the offer in order to be a part of the project. The actor said that she had faith in her acting skills and believed that one day her talent will establish her as a leading actor.

However, this is not the first time that an actress has addressed the issue of casting in the south Indian industry as before Nayanthara, Anushka Shetty also spoke about this issue in the year 2020.

Talking about her married life with director Vignesh Shivan she said, “I feel like I don’t have to worry about anything anymore. If anyone criticises me or even during any kind of bad situation, if he is with me, it will all be fine. To know that ‘whatever happens he will take care’ is a big thing.”

The actress was last seen in Chiranjeevi starrer ‘Godfather’.
