Sara Ali Khan Admits That Her Performance In THESE Films Was Bad

Sara Ali Khan, who will next be seen in Gaslight opposite Vikrant Massey and Chitrangada Singh, in an exclusive interview with GOODTiMES talked about the challenges that she had to face while shooting for the film, one of her worst performances till date, why 2020 was one of the worst years for her personally and much more. 

Sara opened up about being self-critical and what she learnt after the box office failure of Love Aaj Kal 2 and Coolie No.1. She said, “Don’t do anything that your heart is not 500% convinced about. As an actor I’m not formally trained so the only thing I have to rely on is conviction and gut instinct and if that is impure and polluted you won’t be able to do anything.”

She further added that she miscalculated what she thought people liked about her and she admits that her acting was not good. “In 2019 specifically I got caught up in trying to show you what I thought you wanted to see. Everybody was like Sara kitni bubbly hai, bindaas hai kuch bhi bol deti hai but I took it to an almost gregarious and loud and attention seeking level because I miscalculated what you liked in me. I started becoming too aware of what people like in me. And now I have let that go”, she stated.

She then went on to explain that she has realised along the way that there is no formula for success and that she wants to do various roles. She said, “Failures only make you stronger and there is no formula. The two films that I was disappointing in…formula wise they both were perfectly good decisions. Now I realise nobody has the answer so as long as you can do different kinds of stuff. I want to various roles.”
