Tamannaah Bhatia Talks About How SS Rajamouli And Madhur Bhandarkar Cast Actors Based On Their Talent
In a recent interview with GOODTiMES, Tamannaah Bhatia and Madhur Bhandarkar chat about their latest film “Babli Bouncer”, the challenge of making films in the current scenario and much more, in conversation with GOODTiMES’ Puja Talwar.
The story of “Babli Bouncer” follows Tamannaah Bhatia’s character Babli, a small town girl who becomes a female bouncer in a big city like Delhi. The film explores the various facets of the profession, which is usually dominated by men.
Talking about the casting culture in the Indian film industry, Tamannaah Bhatia lauds Madhur Bhandarkar and SS Rajamouli and says- “Other thing that I really have to give it up to Madhur sir and Rajamouli sir is that there are a few filmmakers in our country who have casted actors not because they are stars or not because they come with a certain market but because they actually suit the part. This is definitely going to change the way casting happens in our country and you will see deserving actors getting just the right kind of roles. It is exactly the kind of validation that I wanted for myself. It’s a showreel for me and anywhere in the world I would be so proud to take this and say see I have done this movie. He (Madhur Bhandarkar) hasn’t seen any of my films. He has only seen ‘Bahubali’.
The actor-director duo also talked about making films with a socio-cultural message, how the emergence of OTT platforms has benefited the industry, a person Tamannaah Bhatia would like to be ‘Babli Bouncer’ for and much more.
