Brides, This Is What You Need To Keep In Mind Ahead Of The 2019 Wedding Season

What’s trending in the world of weddings? It depends on who you ask. The 7 day affair, the India Couture Week ’19 brought forth all the fads for the upcoming ‘shaadi’ season from eponymous fashion labels such as Falguni Shane Peacock, Shyamal & Bhumika, Pankaj & Nidhi, Tarun Tahiliani and Gaurav Gupta among others who you can totally trust for the best fashion council! Here is a taste of all the lessons we learnt…

LESSON #1

RED IS NOT THE ONLY COLOUR FOR THE BRIDE

While the traditional red still gets to hold its place in the bridal colour palette and fuchsias enter no holds barred as always; ivory whites, pale sandy fawns, dirty lilacs, shades of greens, even neons have made an ingress in the charts. The most important lesson we have learnt? Red is not the rage anymore and white is not the colour of mourning.

LESSON #2

THE DUPATTA IS DISAPPEARING AND IT’S NOT A NECESSITY AT ALL

The chunni is a cumbersome accessory made dispensable by cleverly tailored garbs. The runway saw garments with pre stitched dupattas and at times without the wispy fabric at all! Without the veil you could be in just another dress, it is an accessory that creates moments. For the bride, the veil remains, but not coyly covering her face anymore, it lays low, because she’s not hiding behind reams of fabric. The whole couture interpretation has been rich in heritage but modern in interpretation.

LESSON #3

LEHENGA IS NOT THE ONLY MOST FANCY SILHOUETTE APPROPRIATE FOR YOUR WEDDING DAY

Intricately embellished, glitzy jumpsuits, second skin, gowns, skirt plus top designs… The week also brought new styling solutions that are closer to daywear choices and current trends. The runway witnessed the return of the sensuous mermaid style skirts as well!

LESSON #4

THERE’S SO MUCH YOU CAN DO WITH THAT NECK AND THOSE SLEEVES AND THE BACK!

Necklines are a great way to play with your ensemble! Honestly, you don’t need to invest in a bold, boisterous blouse, neither does it have to be overly complicated to make a fashion statement. And to make sure all the eyes are still on you when you turn your back toward the crowd, focus on the back neck too!

LESSON #5

FLOWERS IN THE HAIR ARE BACK IN A BIG WAY!

If you really ponder upon this one, you’d realise the trend had never really faded into nothingness. The dreamy couture week featured flowers that made as big a statement as the clothes.
