Day 2 India Couture Week 2019: Monaco To Madras, For The Bride Who Loves A Destination Wedding

Day 2 at India Couture Week 2019 witnessed magic from the house of Suneet Varma. Varma has been in the business of design for 31 years, and this year his creations were inspired by the international bride who has a fun destination wedding, from Monaco to Marrakech to Madras.

We saw light- weight lehengas and saris with bustiers with feathers. With some of the lehengas we saw that he bid farewell to the duppatta. Pastels and whites constituted a prominent part of his collection. We saw a pre-stiched sari with an elaborate blouse. A pair of shararas in mint was another fresh option for the wedding guest; with a slightly more dramatic choice resting in the sorbet coloured sari with ruffles on the border. For the sundowners in a Medici home in Florence or for the beaches of Thailand, one could opt for Kaftans. For the lovers of red and pink there were options peppered with hand embroidered designs inspired by Turkish motifs that the designer saw at Hagia Sophia in Istanbul.
