Skipping Breakfast? Try These Under 5 Minutes On The Go Breakfast Recipes

American writer and nutritionist Adelle Davis once said, “Eat your breakfast like a king; lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper.” But in the real world, who has the time to prepare ‘chappan bhog’ for breakfast when we can’t even get up on time?

Well your busy life and lazy attitude can’t be the reason behind your poor diet. Try these healthy, delicious and quick breakfast recipes that you can prepare in under 5 minutes. 

  • Mug Omelette

Is there anything easier than cooking an omelette? A mug omelette!

While this is a healthy and easy to cook recipe, it is also easy to eat as you can carry your favourite mug and relish this delicious meal while travelling to the office.

Ingredient

2 Eggs

Finely Chopped Vegetables (any vegetables of your choice)

1 spoon Salsa

½ a cube of Cheese 

Seasoning

Method

  • Crack two eggs into a mug and add in some chopped vegetables, seasoning, salsa and grated cheese into it.
  • Mix everything well with the help of a fork and microwave it for a minute.
  • Top it with some coriander leaves and grated cheese ro enhance the taste and appearance.

Carrot Smoothie

Bugs Bunny used to say, “Another day, another carrot.”

If you car(e)rot about your eyes then add this carrot smoothie to your diet. (pun intended) ;p

How many more reasons do you need to drink a delicious smoothie?

Ingredients

1 Chopped Carrot

½ chopped pineapple

1 Chopped Banana

3 tsp yogurt

½ cup milk

Chopped walnuts

Sugar

Method

  • Add all the fruits and vegetables into the blender along with some sugar.
  • In a cup mix milk and yogurt.
  • Eventually pour the milk mix into the blender and blend it well.
  • Pour the smoothie into a glass and top it with chopped walnuts.

Whole Wheat Pasta

What if we tell you that your favourite pasta can be healthy too? Seems like our wish has come true. Try making this healthy, whole wheat vegetable pasta that will not just satisfy your taste buds but will also nourish your body.

Ingredients 

1 cup Whole wheat pasta

1 tsp Butter

1 cube Cheese 

Salt

Chopped Vegetables (any vegetables of your choice)

Tomato puree/ sauce

Method

Boil a cup of whole wheat pasta and train the water.

In a pan, heat some butter and saute the chopped vegetables.

 Add the boiled pasta to the pan and pour in the sauce.

Mix everything well, cover it with a lid and let it cook for two minutes

Top it with some grated cheese and cook for another minute.

Scrambled Tofu

Scrambled tofu is the best alternative for all the vegans out there. This high protein breakfast recipe is easy to make and can be adjusted according your taste.

Ingredients

200 grams Tofu

A pinch of Turmeric

A pinch of Salt

Red chilli powder

Fresh coriander leaves

Method

Chop tofu into bite sized pieces.

Heat some oil in the pan and add tofu to it.

Add in the spices to the pan and mix everything well.

Sprinkle some fresh coriander on top and dig in.

Breakfast Parfait

In french the word ‘Parfait’ stands for perfect. Parfait is a rich and creamy cold dessert which has a smooth consistency. This creamy dish topped with fresh fruits is the parfait way to start your day.

Ingredients

5 tbsp Yogurt

1 cup Chopped Fresh fruits

Chopped nuts nuts

2 tsp honey 

Method

In a bowl take some yogurt and add honey to it.

Pour some yogurt to a glass.

Add a layer of chopped fruits and repeat.

Top your parfait with some fresh fruits and chopped nuts and drizzle some honey on top.
