Pakistani Bride Wears Tomato Jewellery To Troll Country’s Economy

How much are you willing to pay for a kilo of tomatoes? How much is absurd for you? Well, in Pakistan a kilo of tomato costs as high as Rs. 400. And seeing the dire conditions of her country’s economy, a bride did what she could do the best on her D-Day to troll Pakistan’s status.

The Pakistani bride replaced gold jewellery with ornaments made of tomatoes and pine nuts during her wedding. In a video shared Pakistani journalist Naila Inayat, the bride is seen flaunting necklace, earrings, bangles and maang-tikka- everything made out of tomatoes. In fact, she also said that she has received pine nuts in envelopes as her wedding gift. Asked about it, she said in the interview, “The price of gold is very high. Tomatoes and pine nuts are expensive as well. So, I used tomatoes for my wedding”.

Naila Inayat  captioned her post, “Tomato jewellery. In case you thought you’ve seen everything in life”.

Gone are the times when your wealth was measured by the amount of gold, silver and diamonds you have. Now, your economic status is directly proportional to how many kilos of tomatoes and onions you can buy.
