A same-sex pair of African penguins, who live at a Netherlands zoo, stole an egg from a heterosexual duo to raise as their own. And everybody around is cheering for them.
The couple “acquired” the egg when no one was looking.
DirenPark Amersfoort, a zoo in the Dutch province of Utrecht, posted about the daring males. “The gay couple are looking after the egg very well and take turns in keeping it warm”, zookeeper Marc Belt says.
The zookeper added that “homosexuality is fairly common in penguins, but what makes this couple remarkable is that they have gotten hold of an egg.”
While stealing is frowned upon for obvious reasons, the internet has been joyously celebrating.
