GoodTimes With Beyonce And Kendall Jenner At The Atlantis Royal

There were those who attended Beyoncè’s private concert last weekend in Dubai and then there were those who didn’t.

Happy to report I came in the former category, as I was met with many enviable sighs of “ lucky you”.

Making my way amongst the bevy of the bold and the beautiful, the famed and the fashionable and mighty influencers (a keyword to get noticed these days) I was one of the few invited for the grand reveal weekend of  ‘The Atlantis Royal’, Dubai’s much awaited and anticipated ultra luxurious resort.

15 years since I attended the launch of The Atlantis Palm in Dubai in 2008, as our own Priyanka Chopra who was crowned the Goddess Of Atlantis along with singer Kylie Minogue did the honors of unveiling what was to become Dubai’s favorite luxury and experiential resort. I found myself back at the ornate Palm once again, but this time a handmade  exquisite bracelet handed over to me. That was my key to enter into the 1.6 billion dollar swish edifice of the Atlantis Royal and sit in the lap of luxury, quite literally.

Headlining the dazzling grand reveal Queen Bey herself who sparkled in rocks worth 7:5 million dollars descended on stage in a golden Dolce and Gabbana outfit.The 60 minute concert for which she was paid a whopping 24 million dollars, came with an orchestra of 48 women, spectacular fireworks  lighting up the night sky. From a soulful rendition of Etta James’ classic ‘At Last,” she treated her star-studded audience to some of her biggest career-hits, including “Halo and”Crazy in love”, as well as” Brown Skin Girl “which was a duet with daughter Blue Ivy.

Wondering where did the Queen reside during her stay at The Atlantis Royal ? Well at the plush Royal Mansion, which comes with a price tag 100,000 dollars a night. A two level penthouse which comes complete with its own private foyer, swimming pool, entertainment room and an exclusive butler at your service. A personal steam room and an expansive terrace skim the Dubai skyline.

The spatial 795 room property which is also home to 44 private villas with its own set of infinity pools and private terraces. In comparison to the pink and opulent royal edifice and bright interiors of the  Atlantis Palm, the Royal with its metallic and marbled interiors with generous touches of gold is avant garde.

General Manager & Senior VP Operations Atlantis Dubai said “ one can expect the extraordinary, given all the options that you have here each time would be a different experience.  For our guests this is a destination that is all encompassing  depending on whatever the occasion.  You have everything: shopping, entertainment, social dining, options of celebrity chef restaurants , wellness, it’s quite incredible how you have your privacy in the suites and also enjoy what the resort has to offer”. 

So as supermodel Kendal Jenner hosted a private bash for 400 guests at Cloud 22 Skypool which was out of bounds for the rest of us, we got to sample the “feast of dreams”.

A gastronomes heaven as scrumptious fare from the kitchens of celebrity chefs such as 

Nobu Matsuhisa, Jose Andres, Costas Spiliadis, Ariana Bundy, the Queen of couture cakes Mich Turner, and Gaston Acurio were served under one roof for the night.

For all the foodies out there, you have 50 restaurants and bars between the Atlantis Palm and Atlantis Royal catering to your palette.

“You have the celebrity chef restaurants at your fingertips and it’s the largest collection of celebrity chef restaurants in one venue anywhere in the world”, said Tom Roelens.

A huge water fountain breathing fire welcomes you, the gleaming sculpture of  Droplets, holds centre stage in the main lobby and is made with over 5 tons of stainless steel. If the Palm boasts of underwater aquariums, the Royal has the largest jellyfish aquarium. Dotting its glimmering corridors are luxury brands such  as Valentino, Mont Blanc, Tangara.

So get set to party around the clock or get some much needed relaxation when the Atlantis Royal opens its doors to the world on  February 10.

Yes, if you are wondering what’s the price to pay to soak in the luxury, a day stay can cost you a minimum 1000 dollars and onwards.
