Carol Burnett once said- “When you have a dream, you’ve got to grab it and never let go.” and we guess that’s something Kumar Kartikey stuck by. The story of Mumbai Indians’ 24-year-old spinner Kumar Kartikeya is one of the most inspiring stories out there. Wondering, why? Well the ace player has been making headlines yet again but this time not because of the magic he has been doing on the cricket ground but in the game of life.
Kumar Kartikeya left his home in Kanpur in 2013 and moved to Delhi in order to excel in his cricketing career. The ace player made a promise to his family that he wouldn’t return home until he achieves something big.
Kumar Kartikeya finally returned to his family after a long period of 9 years and 3 months.
Kartikeya took to his social media handle to share a picture with his mother and captioned it – “Met my family and mumma after 9 years and 3 months . Unable to express my feelings.”
Stories like these make our heart melt and eyes pour. Kumar Kartikeya isn’t just an inspiration for aspiring cricketers but also gives motivation to all those who are aiming to achieve big in life.
Apart from representing Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League, Kartikeya has played in 12 first-class, 19 List A and 12 T20s so far in his career, where he has scalped a total of 87 wickets.
