Female athletes are on the ascendant. And the latest to join the unstoppable women bandwagon is shooter Apurvi Chandela. She touched a new milestone in her career, when she was ranked World No. 1 shooter in 10m Air Rifle in ISSF World Rankings. The sports icon took to her Twitter handle to share the news with her fans.

Touched a milestone in my shooting career today!! @ISSF_Shooting @TheNrai @IndiaSports @OGQ_India @forglori pic.twitter.com/KWIv8Qszxf— Apurvi Chandela (@apurvichandela) May 1, 2019
Earlier in February, she shattered the World Record to bag India’s first gold medal at the ISSF World Cup. The ace shooter had shot a 252.9 in a thrilling 10m Women Air Rifle finale to bring home the shining yellow medal.
While Apurvi Chandela is sitting on the top spot, shooter Anjum Moudgil is the second seed in the 10m Air Rifle event after her mixed team won gold at the recently concluded ISSF World Cup in Beijing. Both the shooters are among the six Indian shooters to have earned entry to sport’s highest pinnacle- The Olympics. Seems Indians can expect a flow of golds from Tokyo 2020.
