Bumrah is booming! The gun fast bowler added another title to his glorious bowling career as Jasprit Bumrah became the second fastest Indian after Mohammed Shami to take 100 ODI wickets. In their last round-robin match in the ICC World Cup, India was asked to bowl first against Sri Lanka. And it was Bumrah who dismissed the Sri Lankan captain Dimuth Karunaratne, and while doing so, he also claimed his 100th ODI wicket in just 57 matches.
Bumrah achieved the feat in the fourth over, after Sri Lanka opted to bat first. The ace bowler even went to take down to more wickets, that of Kusal Parera and Angelo Mathews. While Bumrah is the eighth fastest bowler to take 100 wickets, Mohammed Shami is ranked 7th with New Zealand’s Trent Boult.

He is in fact the sixth highest wicket taker in the World Cup so far. Meanwhile, India is looking to end the round-robin stage with a win against Sri Lanka. The team is heading to the semi-finals with winning momentum and is likely to face England or New Zealand in the knock-out stages.
