Frank Lampard Comes Back To Chelsea, This Time As Manager

Life’s a full circle for Frank Lampard as the legend returned to his rightful home. Chelsea has appointed the legendary player as their new manager as Lampard has signed a three-year deal with the club.

Former manager Maurizio Sarri has left to join Juventus and The Blues’ all-time top scorer has replaced him as he makes a sensational return to Stamford Bridge. Lampard has been the frontrunner for the job since the time it became clear that Sarri would return to take over the Italian football club, despite having just one year as a manager under his belt.

As emotional as this return is for Lampard, this is also going to be the biggest job of his life. The Chelsea legend is under no illusion that he must deliver success despite having sold the club’s star player Eden Hazard. The Blue team is also under a two-window transfer ban. Even owner Roman Abramovich has curated a habit of hiring and firing managers regularly, so Lampard’s status has not got him any immunity.

However, Frank Lampard has a fantastic relationship with the Chelsea supporters; they voted him Player of the Year thrice and have sung his name regularly since he left in 2014. Everyone at the club is super excited to see him patrolling the Stamford Bridge touchlines and leading the quest for more silverware. And Lampard’s commitment to constant improvement, versatility and reading of the game is exemplary, and those assets bode well as he begins life in charge of an elite Premier League club he knows inside out.
