We bring you some Insta-worthy news – Instagram Music has finally been rolled for Indian users. And just like the name suggests, this feature lets you add official music tracks to your Instagram Music. While there’s still no official announcement or update around the feature for Instagram yet, Android and iOS users can however get the feature with the latest update of the app.
Instagram Music can be found in the ‘Sticker’ drawer. Once you’re done creating your story, tap on the sticker tab which will let you choose a song of your choice that you can link to your story. From then on, you can select the segment of the song you wish to use in your story besides changing the font style, size and colour of the lyrics. Once you’re satisfied with the aesthetics of your story, tap on the ‘Done’ button. The song library features a plethora of Indian songs as well as some popular international numbers.
The feature is not just restricted to Instagram; it is also available on Facebook. Create a new post with an image or video, and tap on ‘Edit’ icon hovering on the bottom left corner of the media you have chosen. Then tap on stickers and there you’ll find an icon called ‘Music’ which works the same way as Instagram Music. Facebook, earlier in March this year, announced a partnership with Indian labels including T-Series Music, Zee Music Company and Yash Raj Films. The social media site at that time promised its users that it would let them include their favourite music in videos, messages, posts, stories and other creative content. The year-long wait for the arrival of Instagram Music in India was perhaps due to this reason.
