Vistara Becomes First Indian Airline To Offer Wi-Fi and Live-Streaming In The Sky

Vistara, a joint venture of Tata Group and Singapore Airlines, will become India’s first airline to offer in-flight Wi-Fi services and streaming services on its new Boeing Co. 787 Dreamliners. The airlines will be the first ones to introduce this service thereby giving a heavy competition to its counterparts.

Tata Group’s NELCO and Panasonic Avionics Corporation have announced their partnership to provide the flight broadband services in India. The duo will will provide satellite connectivity services to customers flying over Indian space. The passengers will be able to access social media websites like Facebook, Twitter and messaging services like Whatsapp, and also live-stream matches.

Vinod Kannan, Vistara Chief Strategy Officer told sources that the pricing of the services will be decided in the coming weeks.
