With the news of COVID-19 cases in India increasing exponentially on a daily basis, there is an inward need to seek out positivity amongst the trenches, from wherever possible. Like how the recovery rate pertaining to coronavirus has increased in India.
According to Livemint, the number of of people recovered from coronavirus disease is at 64,733 today, which means over 42% of the total coronavirus patients have been cured up until now. The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has noted that, the timely lockdown and early detection of coronavirus cases are the main reasons behind the high recovery rate, the health ministry said. Lav Agarwal, joint secretary, health ministry said,
When the first lockdown started, then the recovery rate was around 7.1%. The recovery rate during the second lockdown was 11.42%, which further rose to 26.59%. On May 18, when lockdown 4.0 commenced, India’s recovery rate was 38%.
If these statistics continue in their progression, the recovery rate will only increase further, and India can look at a potential flattening of the curve.
