Indians Stranded Abroad To Be Evacuated In A Phased Manner, Govt Of India Has Said

In a news that brings relief to countless Indians stuck across the world, including the Middle East, America and Europe are going to be brought back in a phased manner, starting May 7. Air Craft and naval ships will be arranged for the same, and the service will be offered on “payment-basis”.

“Indian Embassies and High Commissions are preparing a list of distressed Indian citizens. This facility would be made available on payment-basis. Non-scheduled commercial flights would be arranged for air travel. The travel would begin in a phased manner from May 7,” the Standard Operating Protocol that has been prepared for this reason, said. The government has also asserted that during this journey, all passengers would need to follow health protocols that have been issued by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

All the stranded citizens upon arrival would be quarantined for 14 days, and furthermore a coronavirus detection test would be done after 14 days.

This measure comes in after the government has already facilitated the to and fro of stranded migrants within the country.
