New Banksy Discovered At England Hospital, Honours Frontline Workers

Leave it to Banksy to turn every moment into a spectacle of art. The elusive, anonymous, brilliant artist has delivered a new work that appeared at the Southampton General Hospital. The work is evocative, and displaying gratitude to medical frontline workers who are battling the novel coronavirus pandemic. In the art work you can see a child playing with a new superhero – an NHS nurse, while at a nearby hamper lie his “superhero toys” like Batman and Spiderman.

The nurse can be seen wearing a facemask, a nurse’s cape, and an apron with the Red Cross emblem, which is the only aspect of the picture with colour.

The painting will remain at Southampton General Hospital until the autumn when it will be auctioned to raise money for the NHS. BBC reported this, with reactions of surprise and warm feelings from the staff.

It’s indeed true, when things go really dark, only art comes to save the human mind and heart.
