There is a silver lining amid this extending of an extended lockdown, and that is Prasar Bharati’s newest initiative. Something special is in the offing in May; everyone’s favourite writer (we mean everyone) Ruskin Bond will be reading his short stories live on All India Radio.
The series that began May 1 and will be available on Akashvani’s terrestrial as well as digital platforms, an AIR statement said. Titled ‘Bonding over the Radio’, the series will initially run for 15 days and will feature stories exclusively handpicked for AIR by the multiple award winning essayist and novelist.
The iconic writer will be recording these stories – all that tell tales in his signature style about slow lives, ebullient narrative, and explore lives from the eyes of an elusive youth- over the telephone from his native place in Mussoorie.
The broadcasts will be available on Prasar Bharati’s mobile app NewsOnAir as well as on three channels – FM Gold, Indraprastha and AIR Live News 24×7 at 7.10 am and 10.10 pm daily.
