Trust us. The worst is yet ahead of us – World Health Organisation’s Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has warned in a press briefing.
This comes days after President Donald Trump blamed WHO as being complicit in hiding the true extent of the novel coronavirus, and called off halting of funds to the organisation.
The Director- General evoked sentiments tracing back to the Spanish Influenza and said that world is now better prepared to face a plague such as this, and that with technology it should be easier however people shouldn’t alone rely on lockdowns for that to be achieved. He further added that, “Let’s prevent this tragedy. It’s a virus that many people still don’t understand.”
