‘The head of a nation doing exactly what he is asking the nation to do’, wrote a netizen as a picture of President of Portugal Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa practicing social distancing in a queue to buy groceries went viral on Twitter. What followed was some major cheering for the national leader.
Twitter user Ben Phillips took to his handle to share the said photo of the Portugese President, and wrote, “What makes this photo so amazing is that it looks so ordinary. The man in the shorts waiting in line in this shop in Portugal is the President”. To which another Twitter user pointed out that ‘they are used to it’, as he has been spotted shopping for grocery a couple of times before the COVID-19 pandemic began, as well.
