It’s a sad day for feline lovers, as the biggest Instagram sensation, Grumpy Cat, has died. In an unfortunate announcement by his owners on his official Instagram and Twitter profiles. Check it out- 

“Despite care from top professionals, as well as from her very loving family, Grumpy encountered complications from a recent urinary tract infection that unfortunately became too tough for her to overcome. Besides being our baby and a cherished member of the family, Grumpy Cat has helped millions of people smile all around the world – even when times were tough. Her spirit will continue to live on through her fans everywhere.”

People shared their condolences on Twitter for the deceased cat, sharing the grief of the cat’s family and owners and pouring in their support.

Grumpy Cat lived in Phoenix, Alabama with her family of three. The cat was an internet sensation – it sparked lots of memes as its ‘grumpy’ expression went viral instantaneously on social media. ‘Tardar Sauce’ was another name for the now deceased cat. Grumpy Cat has more than 2.4 million followers on Instagram, and 1.5 million on Twitter.
