Disney is always up to something new; things that are creative and unique and damn CUTE. And with the live-action version of The Lion King round the corner, Disney yet again unfolded new excitement in the form of two character inspired plush toys. Yes, that’s right and none of us can wait to get our hands on them.
Disney has partnered up with Wildlife Conservation Network to create these plush toys after the film’s main protagonists Simba and Nala. However these toys are not in the market for fans to cuddle with the King and Queen of Pride Rock, rather it has a different aim, a unique purpose- saving lives.
We’re proud to announce a new collaboration with @Disney and The Lion King that will put lion conservation in the hearts and minds of people around the world. Support @wildnetorg’s @LionRecovery in reviving lion populations with the hashtags #TheLionKing #ProtectThePride pic.twitter.com/7O5q8hlNxX

These plushies are a part of a global campaign by Disney to raise awareness of crisis facing lions. The campaign aims to support Lion Recovery Fund and its partners to help advance conservation across Africa. This also includes the goal to double the number of lions in the wild by 2050. So for every Simba or Nala plushie you buy, Disney will donate $5 to the lion recovery organization.
These plush toys will be available from July 1 onwards at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and a few additional stores. However, there are only 40,000 of these brightly patterned plush toys, so get them as quick as you can because none of us mind a Simba sitting proudly in our room.
