While Hong Kong didn’t win the match against India, top-order batter Kinchit Shah did have a reason to celebrate. Wondering, why? Well, Kinchit Shah went down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend after the Asia Cup match against India.
In a heart-warming video shared by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), Shah surprised his girlfriend by popping the million dollar question at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday, August 31.
“She said YES! A heartwarming moment where Hong Kong’s Kinchit Shah proposed to his SO after playing a big match against India. A huge congratulations to the happy couple. We wish you all the joy and happiness in your new life together,” the Asian Cricket Council tweeted.
In a heart-warming gesture, after the match, Hong Kong cricketers presented a special jersey to the former India captain Virat Kohli.
On a jersey for Kohli, Hong Kong cricketers wrote: “Virat, Thank you for inspiring a generation. We stand with you. There are many incredible days ahead. With strength. With Love. Team Hong Kong.”
Kohli, who showed glimpses of returning to form, shared the jersey on his Instagram story and said: “Thank you @hkcricket. This gesture is truly humbling and very very sweet.”
Hong Kong went down against India by 40 runs in a Group A match in Dubai. Suryakumar Yadav (68) and Virat Kohli’s (59) unbeaten knocks powered India to post 192/2 after being put into bat.
