Launched by Karan Johar in his first Netflix Original, Guilty, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor made her acting debut alongside Kiara Advani who plays the lead role.
Guilty, which has been written by Kanika Dhillon (Manmarziyaan, Kedarnath, Judgementall Hai Kya) and is helmed by Ruchi Narain, explores the different versions of truth that surface when a small-town girl accuses the college heartthrob of rape.
Talking about how her best friend, Alia Bhatt, reacted to her performance, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor said, “Everybody was just overwhelmed and then crying. Almost 10, 15 people came out with tears in their eyes.” She adds that Alia Bhatt was crying. “She didn’t look at me, firstly. She’s gone and hugged everybody, I was like ‘Where were you?’, she was like ‘I can’t talk you’,” narrates Akansha Ranjan as she mimics her best friend crying. “So I think she was also supremely happy”.
