Aditya Tiwari, a Pune resident, who adopted a child with Down Syndrome in 2016, will be felicitated as the ‘World’s Best Mommy’, along with women from across the country; he will also take part in a panel discussion at the event. The event, Wempower, will take place in Bengaluru to mark International Women’s Day on March 8.
While speaking to a leading daily, Aditya Tiwari said, “I am delighted to be honoured as one of ‘world’s best mommies’ and I am looking forward to sharing my experience of bringing up a child with special needs.”
Aditya Tiwari adopted Avnish, in January, when the latter was just 22 months old. Aftera dopting the baby, Aditya quit his job as a software engineer and started counselling, guiding and motivating parents with special children across the country. His six-year-old son also accompanies him wherever he goes. “Avnish is right at the front, motivating parents who have children with special needs. He may not speak but his presence plays a major motivating factor for parents,” he added.
Aditya and Avnish have traveled 22 states and have held meetings, workshops, and conferences at nearly 400 locations.
